Playing with any Lego set is going to be more beneficial than sitting down to watch TV for hours on end.

Although Lego can be more expensive than other similar building sets, the key to its success is that it lasts and can be passed down from one generation to the other. It was introduced in 1932 so you probably remember playing with it in some form yourself as a kid.

The Lego City Airport is one of the larger Lego kits. It includes a jet plane, flight terminal with revolving doors, a baggage cart, control tower, some figures including the crew, a passenger and a service man. As with all Lego sets you can buy extra figures for it, or in this case a passenger plane and some runway. In fact you could build an entire Lego City if you wanted to.

Lego has a reputation for detail but this set really does take it to a new level. Many of the items you would expect to see in a real airport turn up in this set. There is a Soda machine, coffee mugs, security scanning area, computer behind the check in desk and so much more. The only real downside to the Lego City Airport set is that there are not many figures included. You may want to buy some additional mini figures because given the size of this set five really isn't sufficient.
